Where I stayed
Hotel Miraflores
The only reason we went to Loja was to facilitate the border crossing into Peru, so needless to say, we didnīt do much worth writing about here.
Our hostel was pretty bad (the water stopped running a few times during our stay), but it only cost $10, so we canīt complain too much.
Our 9 hour bus ride to Piura, Peru left the next morning at 7am, so we spent less than 24 hours there. After leaving Loja, we received our first creepy couchsurfing solicitation from someone saying that they saw that we had logged in from Cuenca, and asking if we wanted to meet up for some coffee. A very nice note, but still a little weird, seeing as we didnīt initiate any sort of correspondence with that person. In speaking with another traveling couchsurfer later, we found that this is a pretty common occurrence.
