Guaranda was our next stop in Ecuador. It´s a small town that is the gateway to a smaller town called Salinas, which is known for its production of cheeses. We had originally planned on taking a day trip to Salinas as soon as we got into Guaranda, but once in Guaranda, we decided to explore the town we were in instead.
Since it was a small town, there wasn´t much going on, but we did find a good, cheap restaurant to have some lunch. It was the first time we´d had a vegetarian meal in a long time. We started off with a potato soup, then were treated to a fried won ton type bread dipped in honey - yum! Afterward was the main dish of lentils and rice with some cooked vegetables. Dinner wasn´t nearly as exciting, as we just had some store-bought ramen noodles with vegetables.
The next day, we were on to Guayaquil to meet up with our friend Ben!
