I can't believe it's our last day already, but we still had plenty planned so we set off early. We walked past Radio City Music Hall and to St Patrick's Cathedral. I had wanted to go and see the Pieta inside, and it didn't disappoint. It was beautiful, and not stuck behind the glass like the one at St Peter's in Rome (ever since that lunatic took a hammer to it - nutbag!)
There was hardly anyone there, so I got plenty of time to look at it without being disturbed. It really is lovely, and I'm not even religious - but I do love the beautiful art of it.
We walked along to Grand Central Station so I could take some more pictures, and past the Chrysler Building to our final deli - Sarge's on 3rd Avenue. It was another nice place with a great atmosphere, and their selection of food was slightly different to the others, so Matt had a corned beef and cheese sandwich, and I had the corned beef hash. Matt said he really liked this one, and gave it 8/10.
So it turned out that the first sandwich he had on the first night in Stage Deli was the best, but Matt admitted that he would have been happy with any of them! We sat and talked about all the places we had been to, and what fun we'd had. Then we thought about all the places we still hadn't been to, but that just means we'll have to come back again!
We still had some time before we needed to leave for the airport, so we walked back up to Midtown and stopped of at Macys. I went and did some final shopping, while Matt made use of the free wi-fi and skinny vanilla latte in Starbucks!
Then we went back to collect our luggage, caught the bus to the airport and away home we went - bye New York, we'll be back!
