I finally started some of the stuff I actually came to do!  We ran some PCR and also ran that out on agarose gel.  It was pretty exciting even if it doesn’t sound like it! Unfortunately, I was not sent with the right master mix so that project is now on hold until further notice. but....

I also started my first ELISA (which is my actual project).  I look forward to doing many, many more.  It looks like in general that I will be doing a couple of ELISAs in the morning and then entering data/doing computer stuff in the afternoon when the lab gets really busy.  I will go to whatever random meetings or clinical stuff that sounds really interesting and also go on trips if others are doing things that appeal to me.  I am looking forward to finally having a schedule more or less figured out even if it is somewhat less efficient than I would set up!

All my roommates are medicalpeople so they are always visiting hospitals and patients and such but I also have my own lab work to do so it is tricky to decide which are opportunities that I will not have again and when I should really be doing the work that I came to do!
