We drove to the market today in Sprakenburg. There used to be a sea besides Sprakenburg, before they built a new polder (land) in front of the city. It used to be a thriving fishing town, before they filled up the sea with land and a dyke to make more land.

It is one of the few places left in the Netherlands where some women still wear local traditional clothes.
