Our first full day in Mexico we enjoyed the fact that we were not at work or studying for law school finals.  We woke up early, which is somewhat unusual, and got our free breakfast Americana from the hotel restaurant.  Abner, our waiter was excellent.  We were able to just use the total price for our free breakfast towards anything else on the menu; the American breakfast is one of the most expensive things on the menu, so we really lucked out with this part of the groupon deal!  Vince got the most Mexican looking thing on the menu- tortilla with tomato sauce, fried plaintains, eggs, ham, peas, etc.  I got waffles (very Mexican) and the fantasy fruit platter to share.  The fruit platter was awesome.  Pineapple, honeydew, watermelon, banana and cantaloupe.  All somehow in season and at the peak of ripeness.

After our filling breakfast we went to the pool to lounge.  Neither of us has been on vacation to a warm place during the winter in quite sometime, so the novelty of being in a swimsuit in December has yet to wear off.  We were talking about Christmas plans and realized that we were not on the same page as far as who's parents' houses we will be on what days.  So after arguing and some calls through gmail, we got that settled and decided to go out to the marina.  There are dolphins and baby dolphins in the marina, which are cool to watch.  Unfortunately they're not there by choice, but rather because there's a dolphin tourist park in the town and this is where they keep their dolphins.  I try to tell myself that the dolphins don't mind having 500 sq feet to swim around in, but I really don't think that's the case.

We ate at one of the restaurants by the marina that had "authentic Mexican food"  I don't really know what authentic Mexican food is, but this was really good.  I got a giant margarita and chicken tacos.  Vince got chicken mole.  Everything is so fresh and good!  Pico de gallo, guacamole, cheese, etc.  It was so good.  I got to share my meal with el gato that I lured over to the table with chicken.  Again, we were not night owls and went to bed fairly early.  I know there was more but I really can't remember now!
