Where I stayed
Need to catch up! All day yesterday was spent en route to Peru. From 5 am to 2 am the next day, we traveled from San Fran to Mexico City (had awesome shrimp quesadillas) to Lima, Peru. Got to our hotel in a not so good part of Lima, but immediately passed out. Awoke early to some guy on a loudspeaker outside singing in spanish. Kept saying ´adios´ over and over again. Also heard lots of children chanting. Still not sure what was going on... Got up and went to the bus station and hopped on a bus to Ica. It was about 5 hours of sand dunes, desert and pacific ocean. Lots of cows and lots of very run-down houses. So far, I love Ica. Ate at a place called Anitá´s. Yum. Then caught a cab to Huacachina. Awesome! It is an oasis surrounded by sand dunes, with a lagoon in the middle. Our hotel is cool. Very pretty. There´s a funny loud parrot who seems to live by the pool. Looking forward to having a drink soon... Hi mom!
