. After looking on the menu and realising it was all Indian food which is not appealing for 8.30 in the morning we ordered orange juice and ice cream. Not a conventional breakfast but it felt like the middle of the day as we had already been up for hours. After we felt like we had out stayed our welcome in the restaurant we got a rickshaw back to the train station to wait for another 1.5 hours. Luckily this time we found the A/C waiting room which had comfy chairs in it. Lloyd once again fell asleep. At this point we were both fidgety with waiting and bored and were not impressed that we could have had an extra 5 hours of sleep! After a while we were joined in the waiting room by the nice English couple we had met earlier, we complained once again together and chatted about india as a whole. We were then joined by another English couple who had been to see the station master and were told that apparently some of the carriages off the train we were meant to be getting were no longer there. This confused us all. Me and Lloyd decided we would stick with the English people to try and sort out what was going on. As the train pulled into the train station the carriage that we and one of the couples had reserved seats for was missing. Thankfully the train conductor ushered us on to the train and assured us we would get a seat. After lots of looking at different bits of paper we were eventually assigned seats. By now it was 12.00 5 and half hours after it was meant to depart. By now we were very tired and very fed up and all we wanted to do was curl up, read our books and go to sleep. Unfortunately our cabin mates insisted on talking to us about everything and anything. After they had finally got off the train we had the cabin to ourselves, the train was weirdly quite compared to the other trains we have got. We finally got the opportunity just to relax and sleep. 9 hours later we finally arrived in Magao, only 8 hours later than what was expected. To say we were narky would be an understatement.
Getting up at 5 o clock for our train to Goa at 6.30 was a killer! No one should ever have to be up that early especially when it turns out they don't need too! We got to the train station early and found a spot to wait for what we thought would be a short 30 minutes. 30 minutes into waiting it was announced that our train was delayed by two hours. We sat their restlessly but still patiently knowing that this kind of thing does happen sometimes. Lloyd curled up on one of the square pillars and went to sleep whilst I sat watch and guarded our bags. He was meant to wake up and take his turn being awake but like that happened. After nearly two hours of waiting it was then announced that our train was delayed again for another 3 hours. This time we were not impressed! What were we meant to do for this long! After having a moan and grumble with a English couple we met we decided to go find somewhere more comfy to sit and get some breakfast. As Hospet didn’t have much going for we went to a restaurant which was by the hotel we had stayed in the previous night
