I woke up in time to catch the hostel's simple (but free) breakfast, and then walked down to the Vietnam Airlines main office and took the cheap airport shuttle. I killed some time with my last Vietnamese coffee (sigh...), and before too long, boarded the plane and we were off.

The flight was only an hour and a half long. We had a very sudden episode of turbulence that sent parts of my lunch flying, and the captain explained it as being the fault of an air traffic controller (though put in nicer terms) - we essentially passed through the 'wake' of another airplane. How close we came, I'd rather not know.

We arrived in Hong Kong at 1:30 in the afternoon, and I took a bus (with free wifi as we were driving; how great is that?) to my stop on Hong Kong Island.

After dropping my bag off, I went out for a bit of a walk. I was saving Central (the main district in Hong Kong) for tomorrow, so I walked in the other direction. There wasn't much to see, save for the large Victoria Park and many large buildings all around. For the rest of the evening I walked through a number of shopping streets and malls, and then headed back to the hostel and called it a night.
