When you travel, there are so many things you gain, and its not just weight or silly knick knacks or even photos, memories, and friends. It is a knowledge you gain from leaving your daily routine and having a chance to observe the things around you. After spending just the last two weeks roaming the European continent, here is a list of things I've found, some serious, some not so much.....
One of the greatest opportunities life offers is that of travel...to see, do and experience someplace new. The opportunity is enhanced when you take time to interact with the people who call your vacation destination home.
Paying to pee is not a bad thing
There is no place I wouldn't visit, even if it means staying in a place outside my comfort zone.
The American truck stop is elevated to a whole new level in Europe, complete with food you really want to eat. Clean bathrooms too!
Traveling with people from other countries is a chance to further your experience if you talk to them about their home...in fact, they might offer you a couch next time you are in town!
I am not a 2 star European hotel kind of girl, but I survived.
Sometimes the places you think will be the highlight of your trip aren't always the highlight you expected them to be....and the sleepiest stop might be one of the most amazing.
No matter how many different type of toilets you've seen in the U.S. they can at least double the variety in Europe.
Traveling through too many countries in too few days will have you confusing you danke's with your gratzi's with your merci's!
See what you came to see, do what you want to do, and leave with no regrets.
Traffic jams are everywhere and there is little you can do about it, other than bang your head on the steering wheel!
You can always sleep once you get home
Learning the drinking customs of each country you visit is a great experience, but it still leaves you with the same result in the morning if you try to learn too much
Take a chance and do something you might not typically do at home
Enjoy the trip today and think about what you spent after you get home
Public transportation is your friend plus its cheap
French guys were way flirtier than the Italian ones
Febreeze and fabric softener sheets are a travel necessity
You can get lost in Venice without even trying
Some of the most wonderful people and experiences happen in your life when you least expect it
It's not wrong......it's just different
Thanks so much for following me through Europe. It was an amazing time and while you've probably read enough, if you have questions let me know. You all know how to find me. Thanks for the notes as well, it was nice to have a bit of home with me!

Welcome home!
While it was tough to say goodbye to vacation, as a family member I'm glad your home safely! What an awesome experience you've had the opportunity to take, and thanks so much for sharing with us all! I love all the pictures, and especially your writings. It has made the vacation real for us as well. Can't wait to talk to you in person about it all. I was waiting for that 'European Vacation' story like the Grizwalds, but luckily you didn't have that. Or, at least you didn't tell us about it! Rest well, and sweet dreams about your vacation!!!
