After getting on the train and into our first train change we went to information to ask the next train to take that would bring us to Arras. The look on her face told us things would not be good. Long story short we were headed to a town that she said was beautiful, it would just be an over night stay that would lead us to Bruge the next morning. Once we got to the next station Lynden did a quick scan of the trains and noticed that a train went into the place we wanted to be. We thus changed plans again and went to Arras (the town near Vimy Ridge). Again we had arrived late and the cost to rent a car was the same as renting a taxi so we went on our own. Not receiving a good map we ended up following a guy from a gas station to Vimy Ridge. This place is actually put on by the Canadian government, so entrance and a tour was all free.

The tour took us to the Canadian front line trenches, down 8 meters into communication tunnels and ended up telling us a lot of the history on this area for WW1. We finished off by going to the monument! This over looks the ridge that was so important to the battle and is huge. We looked around for a little and then started chatting with a nice couple from the UK. They ended up leading us home were we hung out and grabbed a few drinks before dinner. We left the next morning for the city of Bruges.
