It's the final countdown. 2 more days and my sister is no longer a Brown. Or a hyphenated Brown. Or mostly a Wyatt. Something.

Today was spent picking up my tux, shopping around a bit, getting ready for the rehearsal dinner, and eating. Not an incredibly exciting day considering the journey we've just undertaken, I understand, but an amusing day nonetheless.

In preparing for the rehearsal dinner, I held a brief ceremony for the death of my 3 week beard. The reaction I received was more or less what I expected, though I think the best reaction really came from Bonnie, a family friend, though maybe she doesn't know I caught it. Her face fell as soon as I walked in the door, but she brightened up quickly and we discussed other things, but I'm pretty sure the reaction she had was an "ohmygoshlookatthebeard."

Lizzie took a couple of pictures as the beard was slowly removed from my face (thanks to Tom's electric razor, which will no doubt never be quite the same, thanks Tom!). I left the mustache as a final last reaction point for mom and Jenni. Mom has either been made immune of my shenanigans after years of dealing with me or just didn't notice the difference when I saw her later, but Jenni noticed immediately. I had a mustache-ectomy before the rehearsal dinner and mom, even though she didn't react to the beard or mustache all that much, had a very strong look of relief on her face after seeing me at dinner.

Dinner went well, thanks to the Wyatts for throwing the party and inviting us. Dinner was delicious and it was great to see everyone that came out. The Wyatts put together a fantastic slideshow of Jenni and Craig that brought back memories, and the toast speeches were very warm and very well received. Still a bit odd to me that my sister is getting married on Sunday, but I think Craig and Jenni work very well together and will make a fantastic couple.

We did go out afterwards on Beale Street, but I wussed out early and we came back to the house and had a lively discussion with mom and Steve.
