Where I stayed
Torre Petti

Flag of Italy  , Umbria,
Thursday, September 23, 2010

Well hello strangers across the globe.

Apologies for the radio silence, we have been extremely busy here, as you will see from the photos. I'm (Liz, by the way, hi!) sat here writing this on the 21st Sept whilst Oni is working in a kitchen in Todi (she managed to bag herself some work experience there - woohoo!)

I won't bore you all with paragraphs of my ramblings about cats and websites and wine and found dogs, instead I shall illustrate our last couple of months through bullet pointing our adventures to co-inside with the photographs (the captions for the photos on this site don't always work). If I were a geek I may suggest you open the photographs in a new window so that you can read the bullet points at the same time. Ahem.

Right then.

- We're living the a sunflower-farming region of Umbria - a few weeks ago, there were amazing fields of sunflowers surrounding us.
- My mum comes to stay, and play's dead in the Piazza Garibaldi in Todi
- Oni rocks her 'street cool' look
- Free ride in the Funiculare in Todi a woohoooo
- Oni does a lap of our castle
- This is our favorite (out of a possible 14 contenders) cat, called chicken. I call this photograph 'Chicken Castle' or 'Castello Di Gallina'
- Oni walks into a giant post
- Oni graffitis the local signage and calls it 'street art'
- We make friends with the wine man. I mean fruit man
- Mum makes friends with, umm. This lady.
- We have apperatif in the garden, much to the dog's delight
- Waiting outside on the road for the airline to deliver mum's luggage, four days after she arrives
- We sit on some steps
- Going for an Italian all-you-can-eat banquet
- Post-meal - very happy and full!
- One day we arrive home and find we have, well, an extra dog! (The little one in the middle)
- Putting up 'Cane trovolto' posters to locate the oweners of said dog
- The cats seem pretty content with the new arrival
- So we decided to go to Perugia for a day...
- ....with Knox!
- We take some arty photos...
- ...and a photo of a tiny car that looks normal size next to Knox :)
- We admire the view..
- ..and don't do anything suspicious at all
- Cheese shopping
- Avoiding the wild bores..
- ..and again, nothing suspicious
- Oni show's us her party trick
- Making sweet perogis yumm...
- ...with the blackberries Oni picked...
- ...while I was taking photos
- Cooking al fresco
- The cats want in
- Clean plates as usual
- Guess what? MY VISA CAME THROUGH!!! So we celebrate
- Oh, mum's back again! (I think these photos are out of order) Ahem anyway, yes, celebrating
- Oni's celebratory dance, inspired by 30 Rock's Kenneth
- Our garden
- Our not-at-all-scary hallway
- Oh, I found this in an abandoned house. Nice, right?
- View from our house
- Oops, wine tasting again
- Rocky show's us his party trick
- L'anti muffa. Nuff said.
- Oh, Tanya's here!
- Cheese shopping, again
- Oni finds her preodogey
- Tanya shows us her party trick
- Knox watches
- Wine tasting happens a lot around here!
- Spoilt for choice
- Knox takes a moment...
- ...before continuing to write her book at the formal writing desk by candle light
- We do a tour of the castle, before playing hide and seek
- Tanya reminds us to be thankful
- Post-prayer shopping
- This is our inspiration for our wedding day
- Knox rides the giraffe
- Oh, then we were totally in a cloud. Like, this cloud just came and we were in it.
- Oni in a frame
- Italian's drying their washing
- Seriously?
- Sunbathing in the piazza outside the catholic church
- Oh, the dog seems to be staying. Well, guess we'd better give it a shower and a haircut then!
- Street art is taken to the next level in Italy
- Oh noes. Oni poked a stick in her eye whilst gardening. Thankfully this professional-looking patch made it all better
- Family meeting
- I go on a photography shoot with these people...
- ...whilst Oni goes to work with some chefs!
- Oh, this is a view form Todi, just to end it all.

See, you would have been bored if I'd have told the whole stories.

So, that's what we've been up to. We are leaving Bella Italia in a week and a half, it's come around so quickly. So we'll be seeing you either in London or Australia upon our return!

We miss you all lots and are really excited to start living in a city again!

Cheers for reading the blog posts, it's been great to be able to share some of the stories with you all.

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you and good night. xxxx
