As the weather wasn't great for a walk that we had intended to do, we decided to take a trip to the location of Hobbiton from the LOTRs movies as we were in the area! It was quite a surreal experience and very exciting walking around The Shire and Hobbiton and when we got back to our campsite that evening we immediately downloaded the first film so that we could watch the bits in The Shire! Sad I know!   As a 'freebie’ to the exceptionally overpriced Hobbiton tour we got to see some live sheep shearing, as the land used for the filming is actually a working sheep farm.  Unfortunately we can’t post the pictures of Hobbiton (we had to sign a non-disclosure) but we have some pictures of the sheep shearing, which the ladies may like!

Although in the end we didn't spend the day struggling up some North Island peak, we still decided to relax our muscles with a trip to the natural thermal baths in Te Aroha, north of 'Hobbiton'. Apparently the waters have the ability to keep you looking younger so you should shower before not after the bath. We were still feeling the benefits 3 days later. :)
