We were supposed to spend our day in the McLaren Vale wine tasting as it is one of the biggest wine regions and also one which specialises in Shiraz – perfect for 2 red wine drinkers. However as we wanted to book a trip to Brisbane (explanation in the Brisbane entry), and because we were both surprisingly over tasting wine following our 6 vineyards in the Clare Valley, we went to the information centre and sat on the internet for 3 hours.

Brisbane booked and feeling more relaxed we decide that instead of trying loads of wines we would pick a winery for lunch instead to properly experience the wines of one place. It was without a doubt one of the best lunches ever. We poshed out and had the degustation menu, including lobster, lamb (inc brains) and roo. We drank wine from their vineyards, which we then went and tasted afterwards and bought. The setting was amazing in the sunshine overlooking the vines. Altogether an amazing afternoon.
