Laos was a really enjoyable country to spend 3 weeks of our time. Although there weren't any big famous sights like Angkor or Halong Bay, everywhere we went was gorgeous and chilled out.
Two observations are, the girl in KL who said Vang Vieng is the only thing in Laos to do - not so much - and this country is changing fast. Tourism is coming and for better or worse it won't be the same in only a few years I think. So if you have the chance to go, do and don't just do it as an add on to another SE Asia country. Three weeks here isn't even enough!
