Leaving Cambodia and entering Vietnam was totally pain free.  We had a very interesting journey to the Cambodian border which, despite costing more than a little bit, was more like a hitched ride in a smugglers van.  The van was full of boxes of alcohol when we got in and we then spent the next hour driving around Ban Lung picking up a combination of boxes and more people.  By the time we were on the road to the border the van was a packed as it could be! Its not a common border crossing in the north east and we were the only foreigners there.  In fact on the Vietnamese side there was no one in the hall except us, despite it being a huge building!

Leaving Cambodia, i can say that I'm glad we extended our stay from the originally planned 10 days.  I loved Cambodia, mainly because the people are so fantastic to see everyday with their smiling faces and waving at you all the time.  With such a harrowing recent history it's incredible to see.  Also, the towns and scenery are great and there is so much to see and do.  I would definitely recommend this as a full on holiday destination as its way more than just Angkor and the Killing Fields.
