Singapore....what can i say....nice hospital?? Our plan was to spend a mere 2 days here, because it's considerably more expensive than anywhere else in Asia, and then cross over into Malaysia for some beach time. However, i started to feel unwell towards the end of our time in Nepal and went to see a doctor on or first day in Singapore. This led to a referral to a specialist who confirmed that i would need a minor operation. Nothing too serious but it did involve general anaesthetic and 4 hours in hospital (that's all the information I'm giving). So instead of 2 days we have spent 7 days in Singapore, but all we have seen is Raffles Hospital and our hotel room, for the most part. On the positive side, i did get Domino's delivery when i came out of hospital as a treat and my fantastic boyfriend had flowers delivered to me.
We did get to walk around a bit though and experience some of the great food Singapore has to offer...and some of the shopping! Naughty Liz. A walk down Orchard Road, Singapore's answer to Oxford Street, has finally put us in the Christmas mood with the fantastic lights and Christmas music playing everywhere. I think we're going to reserve judgement on Singapore until we can come back as non-budget travellers - it has a lot to offer...
