We have had a wonderful relaxing week at The Sarojin north of Khao Lak on the south west coast of Thailand. It's a fabulous small resort and when full has around 112 guests cared for by 188 staff! It's been about 3/4 full this week and so the ratio has been 2 to 1! Nothing is too much trouble; from clean towels and iced water at the pool or the beach, to breakfast that is available all day! Fantastic! We've both had a couple of massages and have eaten both Thai and Thai inspired European food - delicious, and we are having the 5 course "tasting" menu tonight to end our holiday ......a series of small courses with lots of different flavours...mmmmmm
The last few days have been sunny and very warm and humid. We experienced a dramatic storm earlier in the week, with thunder and lightening accompanied by torrential rain, but luckily in the evening!!
We have been on an elephant trek in the jungle to a waterfall on a 50 year old male elephant and then returned downriver on a bamboo raft, stopping for a swim en route. We also visited the Tsunami memorial, which centres on a police boat that was washed over a kilometre inland and brings home the power of the sea and the force of the Tsunami.

This is the last blog entry - we can't believe that our three months away are over; it has been the trip of a lifetime and we hope we don't bore everyone too much on our return!! Thanks to you all for reading and commenting. Liz and Ivan. 20th April 2013
