Well, the weather has changed but we have been so lucky......the journey from Wanaka started in bright sunshine as we wended our way around two lakes and up into the mountains. The cloud came down a little and it drizzled but as we arrived at Fox Glacier it improved and we had our lunch outside - the cloud appeared to be closing in and so we quickly donned our boots, Jumpers and coats and set off to walk to the glacier.....within a few minutes we were boiling and ended up in our shirt sleeves!! It was interesting to see how the glacier has grown and receded over the years.
We visited lake mathieson, but there was too much cloud and wind for us to see Mount Cook reflecting in the lake......but it was a nice walk through the woods.
We've just arrived at Franz Joseph and the sun has come out, which bodes well for tomorrow.
