We drove from Te Anau to Queenstown, stopping off to admire the views and the Kingston Flyer and fully working steam train! Having booked to go Ziplining, we quickly found the Gondola up the mountain (steeper than Rotorua) and made our way to the "Tree House" where the ziplines are based. We were lucky and the trip through the trees that we had was just Ivan and I plus the two guides. It was great fun and we wished we'd booked for the longer 6 line trip than just the 4! After that first "step into the void" it's such fun whizzzzzing through the trees. This was an " Eco trip" and so at each stop, there was a short talk about the area/environment/wildlife.
We treated ourselves to two more luge rides and a drink and scones in Queenstown before taking the breathtaking crown point route to Wanaka. We went into town for some dinner and were rewarded with the most magnificent sunset over the lake and mountains.......indescribable and sorry, no photos as it was the first night we went out without our cameras!!

We WALKED up that mountain ... (I think we were too tight to pay for the gondola) Yes, it was indeed steep, and yes the views from the top were great ..... :)
