We decided to have a "potter around" day on Friday, and so we wandered around the lake, visited the department of conservation, a small bird park, played crazy golf and saw a spectacular film on the area.
We had a pretty drive over relatively flat plateau (unusual for NZ from what we have seen) stopping at Kaka point with a wonderful beach and a small town which is miles from a lot of places, as you can see from the sign! it was then on to the lake and our delightful B & B and cottage, which Ivan called the garden shed, but as you can see from the picture, is so much more!! These were the best views we have had from our bed so far!! I took a walk through the fields to the lake and got my animal fix from Percy, a friendly sheep who like to have a scratch from a human. So peaceful.
