Our last couple of days have been about festivals, temples and gardens. we went to a festival last night but there were SO many people there, we left via the hundreds of food stalls! it a temple today there was another festival but this was much more civilised with everyone receiving tree branches with cards to celebrate the lunar new year of the snake. We had a boat trip and walked through the bamboo forest.
We've really enjoyed our time in Kyoto and Japan; we've been lucky with the weathe and seen some great sights. We've had some beautiful food and seen some interesting dishes; luckily most of them weren't for us to eat!!
There are some really peaceful places and some fantastic gardens- they must be spectacular in the spring and autumn!!
The people are so polite and helpful and it's such a clean place AND every train, and we've been on a lot, have all been on time, to the minute - local ones, underground ones, mountain ones, intercity and the bullet ones. Brilliant!
The blog might be quiet for the next few days - going for our cookery lesson in the morning and then straight on the train to the airport actor our overnight flight to sydney.............next post might be from the sunshine!!
