St Augustine was founded in 1565 by the Spanish. Actually Juan Ponce de Leon landed here in 1513. This place is increadible, just came here by chance, a stopover on our way to Miami. Another jewel on the crown. Our plans to be in NY for NYE changed when we heard they give out nappy pads so u can be in Times Square to see the ball drop. A million people will be in the streets and no toilets. Gary said he is not quite old enough for incontinence pads yet. We went to the fashion outlets north of NY with the Marks family and I bought some new Nike runners.
Dont know what happened, but when I went to put them on I had two right feet and one was an 8 and the other 8 1/2. We went to the outlets here in St Augustine and luckily they had one pair left in my size and were happy to change for me.
We then went on a bit of a well needed fashion spree. Really felt like Xmas and now ready for new year.
Spent the aftetnoon and night walking through cobble stoned streets and narrow cafe- strewn lanes. So historic, its like a movie set or theme park with townsfolk dressed in period costumes.
Our last stop was at a tiny bar where a great band were playing Led Zeplin. We drank Sangrias and soaked up the atmosphere.
