Got in at 6am, couldnt find a decent hotel for a resonable price so i decided to splurge a little and get a 4 satr hotel (cheating backpacker!!!). By Brasilian rate that is a SUD$51 hotel, still realatively cheap. Not much to offer in Peurto Alegre apart from a cool marketplace with fresh produce, fish and anything else from mobile phone covers to George Foreman grills!!! :0)
The highlight was sunset at a live music cafe, 7th floor overlooking the river, live guitarist and vocal in the background... very nice. Finished the day with a mandatory room service meal!!!! When backpacking this is a treat.... trust me...

The next day took another walk around town to the beautiful Cathedral, some Palaces, and the Theatre. luch in the park (tuna sandwiches and crisps) watching turtles and then back to the same cafe for another sunset....

Took the midnight bus to Santa De Livramento (6.5 hours)on the border of Uruguay/Brasil.
