Met Geoff and his daughter Sophie on the bus & plane going to Hangzhou.  Geoff is an Ozzy (Austrailian) expat.  I told him that I did not know where I was staying yet.  He offered to let me stay on his couch for a small fee.  Which was great, because I appreciated his advice and knowlege of the town.  Sophie is an awesome kid and a good translator also!

I saw the Eclipse of the sun at the West Lake on July 22nd, 2009.  The moment of total darkness lasted about 5 minutes!  What an incredible experience!  I'll try to post my video of the crowd oo-ing and aw-ing.  It takes a long time for vids to upload.

Hangzhou is an upscale city.  Lots of well-to-do Chinese live there, and its very close to Shanghai (40 min?).  I'd like to go back and visit Geoff and Sophie again.

Next stop?  You guessed it.. Shanghai!
