Hey,

Today has been a busy day. I meet up with Lynn this morning at Embankment which was fantastic. It was so lovely to see a familiar face and to be able to catch up with her. She took me on a tour around central London to see a few sights.

I know it sounds odd but despite being here for almost three weeks now I haven't had a chance to check out central London so it was just magic to see some of the sights ...it was the stuff of movies and postcards and I have to say it felt surreal to be there.

We started off at Trafalgar square and saw Nelsons Column. I didn't realise how tall it was until I was actually there looking up at it. There were hundreds of tourists milling around and so combined with the many locals you can only imagine how busy this place it.

From Nelsons column we went to view Big Ben. Many years ago Chen drew me a picture of it so it was just magic to be standing there next to it.

I saw a brief glimpse of the back of Westminster Abbey although I will have to go back to get a proper look. It happened to be 11oclock at this point so Lynn took me to see the changing of the guard and what an amazing sight this was.

How the guards can remain in such heavy armour and layers of clothing and manage to keep a straight face while standing in the sun all day with people trying to make them laugh is beyond me. I hope they get paid a lot because I really think it can't be the easiest of all jobs.

We went for a stroll through St James Park which was just beautiful; the sky was bright blue with not a cloud to be seen for miles. What I thought was really neat was that the council put out heaps of beach chairs on the grass so people can just go sit in the park and admire the scenery. We fed some of the birds in the park as Lynn had remembered to bring some bread with her.

I even got to feed a squirrel in the Park which was pretty awesome....they are just soooo cute. I wanted to put him in my handbag and take him home but I think he may have objected to that. Even more amazing than feeding him I actually got to take a photo of him. They are so hard to get pictures of as just as you are about to take the picture they always move....bugga.

After our visit to the park Lynn took me to see Buckingham Palace and man was it huge. I expected it to be big but no where near as big as it actually was. Apparently a few months a year you can pay to go in and see the inside and closes next week so I may go back next Saturday just so I can say I've been in there.

Outside the palace is a monument to Queen Victoria which stands proud set in a beautiful and extremely colourful garden. The monument is painted gold on the top portion and just looks so majestic.

After my fantastic time catching up with Lynn I had to go for an appointment with a real estate agent to try and find a property to rent. Jonny came with me ( it is Liz and Jonny whose place we are staying at )to the appointment so it was great to have a second pair of eyes. The properties the agent showed us were ok and even better were in our price range but unfortunately the location of them wasn't exactly ideal. So it means I just have to keep looking. Fingers crossed something will come along soon enough.

The day ended with an English BBQ (coal operated.....they don't have gas bbq's in this country can you believe it) in the evening with Liz, Jonny and their friend Jessica. It was the perfect way to end a day. Great food, great music, great company.

Well that's it from me for now, until next time!
