When we came the women came running towards the car singing, waving large leaves at us and dancing. I don't think I've ever seen more smiles at the same time. Nor have I shaken as many hands in one day as I have today. The happiness was incredible and undescribable. We sat in a giant circle and talked and when I introduced myself as being from Sweden, and when just a couple of minutes later James said that the borehole was donated from Church of Sweden I have never been more proud. They looked at me as if it was me personally who had brought them the borehole
They told the LWF team to tell me that there are other villages around here that need the same generosity that they have met and encouraged me to bring the message home to keep on helping people. And I could only nod and say that I will do my best to spread their story to Europe. It was such an incredible moment I don't even know how to describe it. It was amazing. The happiness, gratitude and excitment.
Best day in Uganda so far. Definitely. To be part of something so special and so amazing. Something that is life changing for these people. It just can't be explained.
And now I'm sitting outside with a bottle of beer (I was craving coffee but they don't have coffee so beer would have to do :P), there are lizards running around me. And I am showing pictures from Sweden to the hotel/restaurant staff. They are fascinated by the snow :)
Take care everyone! I am :)
