We are sitting on the train heading out to Herne Bay to pick up our Campervan! Our flights were great over to London and waiting for us at the airport was Chris Lloyd. It was great to see a familiar face with a family station wagon for all our gear. We headed back to Chris and Sarah's and met little Millie, what a honey!!! Cam was in her element. We got organized then headed to the local for...you guessed it...Bangers and Mash and a pint (we had 2). Then we crashed. I had an hour lie down then felt great, Jordan slept for about 4 hours, Spud about 3 and Cam 17 hours. We had a great home dinner with plenty of red wine, catching up with Chris and Sarah and playing scrabble.
We woke up the next morning to 10cm of SNOW on the ground! Sarah Jones and Simon then arrived around to be our tour guides for the day so off we went on the Tube (girls loved it) first stop Buckingham Palace. We also made it to the ANZAC memorial, Harrods, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Southbank (where we stopped for lunch, Bangers and Mash and a Pint) then Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Abbey Road then the Clifton Inn. The Clifton Inn is Sarah J. and Simon's local where Kate Moss and Jude Law hang out. Unfortunately they were not anywhere to be seen but there was an 80th Birthday there and it was pumping. Chris, Swanny, Sarah and Millie joined us here then we went around the corner for a much anticipated curry.
We had a great time hanging out in London although it was very quick. We are looking forward to spending more time there on our way back through and hopefully get some good weather for BBQ's and picnics in the Park.
Packing up again this morning was better as we were able to leave our ski boots and thermals at Chris and Sarah's until our return. Our mini van cab picked us up and dropped us at Victoria Station. I don't think the girls had ever seen a station as big and busy. We got all our gear on with 1 minute to spare then I collapsed into the seat and began to cry. I am really nervous but excited about the next 6 months of our trip. I hope the money lasts and the weather is great but most of all I hope we are all safe and happy. It's going to be one hell of a ride!
