And dry out we did, we did not even touch a beer for 3 days and nights! As par with the rest of the holiday we bought the snow along with us so we did not ski until Wednesday. We now think Keystone is our favorite mountain, it is huge and the terrain is fantastic. Bernadette showed us the ropes along with a few of her favorite head planting runs! Our season pass getting 50% off over here was a bit of a scam by the mountains involved, the guy here believed it is just the a dangler to buy season passes and they don't really expect people to use it. Doug put us onto a guy here who hopefully can help us. He was really great and has basically said he is embarrassed about the pass situation as they are just trying to screw people over. Apparently we now have to travel back to Vail to try and sort the pass thing out!!!! NZSki.com are going to hear all about when we get home!!!
Keystone, however, is a great little town, we have joined the rec club down the road which has gym and pool, so I have got Bernadette on a 3 week boot camp which I think at day 3 she is hating me an wishes I was back in NZ.
We traveled to Denver for the day at the weekend as it is Presidents Day Weekend here and the ski fields are nuts! The weather in Denver was a balmy 14deg we were contemplating wearing shorts and there were some people at the mall in shorts! Hopefully a sign of good things to come.
The weekend for us was very quiet with our usual Sunday Roast and scrabble with Bernadette and Doug. The girls are getting a little behind with homework so are going to spend a good couple of hours today catching up!
Snow forecast again for the end of the week and into the weekend...should make for our last week on our ski's and things a good one, then it is time to pack up the car again and hit the road, with only a month left in the USA and so much area to cover we a very excited but also a little apprehensive! Let the good times continue to roll!
