Well we finally left Vancouver and headed towards the mountains.
We met up with Razza (ex employee), for breakfast monday morning, who by the way is heading to NZ on Saturday to get married!  Then went GPS shopping (of course), budget blown again and it wasn't even lunchtime.  Apparently the GPS will work for us all over the world as long as we can download the new maps or borrow the card off someone with European maps on it so we figure it will work out at about $1 a day!
We endured blizzard conditions following route1 then 5 on our way to Kamloops, had to stop for the night in Merritt where the kids had an indoor heated (40 deg) pool with waterslide all to themselves for the night.  Cam thinks this is the best holiday she has ever had and we hadn't even hit the ski fields yet!
And wow the skiing was AMAZING.  We skied at Sun Peaks just past Kamloops on Tuesday.  The snow was thigh deep powder.  The girls have never seen anything like it and neither have I.  Sun Peaks is an unbelievable mountain and with only one day there we did not do it justice.  We could not ski the top part of the mountain due to limited visibility and temperatures around -15!
Again another stressful drive with blizzard like conditions and AH at the wheel - he tends to drive toward the centre line (left) quite a lot which is causing some discussion in the car, but Cam reckons I drive too far over to the right...so we probably balance each other out.
Destination Chase for the night when the lane turned to single each way, like all our ones at home, but with 1 metre of snow all over it and truck trains roaring at you and coming up behind you and complete darkness at 4.30pm.  The first sign of lodging and we were off that bloody road and into the only motel in Chase.  Needless to say not 5 star but comfy and warm and it has a washing machine and dryer!  No sign of a heated pool or waterslide though.
A big haul today and we have made it to Banff.  We are heading to the Hot Springs tonight and then three days of skiing Sunshine Village/Lake Louise & Norquay.

Re: jealous
I know, we just can't quite seem to stick to it, as much as i really am trying! I did see a pair of amazing boots yesterday but at $700US i decided that might be pushing a bit far!!!
We are having a great time but i really am looking forward to some warm weather.

Take care
