Started the day by walking to the Day Break Coffee Roasters on Main Street and having a coffee in their little cafe before walking back to the hotel and sitting with Cookie and Paul while they had breakfast in the hotel.  It was wonderful to catch up on all we had done since we last saw them on our Celebrity Solstice cruise, and Cookie gave me some great tips on what to see while in Boston, as she had lived there for 13 years.

Jan & Jack arrived at 11:00 to take us for a beautiful drive in the country--Litchfield and Kent in western Connecticut.  We stopped at Lake Waramaug and had an outdoor lunch at the Hopkins Inn overlooking the water, then drove on to Kent where we walked around town a bit, admiring the huge animal sculptures scattered about.  I could have spent a lot more time there!  We drove over Bull's Bridge, a covered bridge originally built in the 1740s to cross the Housatonic River.  It's actually a part of the Appalachian Trail.

After a full day of driving we said good-bye to Jack and Jan, then went for a walk, stopping by Whole Foods to pick up a couple of food items to eat for dinner back in the room.  We marveled over the perfect weather--68, sunny with a few clouds and a light breeze.  We were really fortunate.
