Where I stayed
Marshall on the Park, Adult Living
Up early and walked to Old Wethersfield and back (about 4 miles), taking lots of photos of everything from the full moon, old houses (built in the early 1700s), scarecrows, and autumn leaves. Stopped at the little bagel shop for coffee and was given a "Dutch Apple" bagel with cream cheese--yummy! I saved half for Jan & Jack. After I made it back to the apartment we went for a drive around Hartford and to Queen Elizabeth Park with its lovely gardens. Although the grass was wet, we walked around for a bit, enjoying what was left of the rose gardens, the dahlia garden, rock garden and shade garden. The weather was so perfect for being out. We drove to a grocery called Stu Leonards, which was sort of part theme park as well with lots of animatronic hanging from the ceilings. Strange, but fun. After lunch, as Jan doesn't have internet access we drove to the local library where I plugged in my laptop and checked on emails while Jan picked up passes for our jaunt to Mystic Seaport tomorrow. I took another walk before dinner, this time around the park close to the apartment, and came home to a lovely dinner of broiled trout, salad and roasted asparagus. We all watched a bit of television, then I went to bed early to call Chris and read a bit.
