Where I stayed
We were up and rarin' to go at first light. However, our flight didn't leave until nearly mid-afternoon, so we had plenty of time to sit around. We were picked up and transported at noon for our 1:30 flight...drive time to the airport was 15 minutes, so we spent plenty of time in the departure lounge. Maumere airport was spotlessly clean and air conditioned, and also very small, so we had a comfortable time of it.Our flight was on time, a 737, which had a stopover in Kupang, which is in West Timor apparently (we didn't get off the plane). Finally we landed in Bali. It was very nice not to have to clear customs, and soon we'd arranged a taxi to take us to our one night's accommodation in Tuban, which is very close to the airport. We gloated all the way there, on being back in the land of plenty. We couldn't wait to eat our choice of food. Our room was clean with a soft bed and plenty of water pressure in the shower. It was so nice to stand up in the shower, I must say.
Since our flight arrived at 4:30 p.m., it was nearly dinner time after we'd checked in. We gorged ourselves on Western food--Bill had a gigantic cheeseburger and french fries, and I had chicken alfredo with a big wedge of brownie cake and chocolate ice cream for dessert. It was so decadent. I could feel myself refilling after the weight lost on Flores--it was absolutely lovely. We slept like a king and queen that night. We were very glad to be back in familiar surroundings.

Comments
I guess this means your not going to invest in a timeshare on flores.
Yay! Back to comfort at last. Bali sounds like paradise, in every way. Flores stays in primitive time. Soon you'll be back in the land of plenty, and you're probably on a flight right now. I'll say Welcome Home!

Fantastic blogs, Lisa. I can make a book of them, right?
