Today, I got up at a semi-decent hour and got ready for work.

No! Kidding....that's what Cate did. I just got up.

I was going exploring today.

Where? You ask.

For once...I don't know. Today is completely made up as I go along. I'm winging life for the moment.

I started at a logical place called the information center. There I got a map, and one plan for today and another for tomorrow.

Maybe I will go to the castle and the park today?? Haha. That didn't happen.

I began wandering these little market places in search of nothing. I have no idea what I am doing.

I wandered, got the nicest peach I have ever had...or was it a nectarine? I don't remember.

Anyway, that doesn't matter.

Instead of going to the castle, I turned the other way. It was blue skies today, but the air was as crisp as I have ever felt it. I was wearing gloves!!

I just kept walking towards Cardiff Bay. Water. I needed to see a big expanse of water.

It was a painful walk down there, because my left leg has decided it hates me and is going to make walking a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons.

But it was worth it. It was beautiful.

I wandered for a bit trying to work out where I could just sit, and I settled on a café.

I know it was bad of me to sit and not buy.. but. Shhhh.

So I got out my book. Something has happened to me since I left home. Something I didn't expect.

I never read at home, because I was always too busy. Nor in London for that matter.

My spare time was spent on YouTube or Facebook.

But since Germany, something changed. I like reading, and for what is a new thing in my life...I choose it over sitting on my computer.

Trust me when I say, I still have my YouTube time and Facebook time, but it's not as often.
I still blog on YouTube, and on here. But more and more...I write in my phone and just don't get around to opening my laptop as often.

I fell asleep with a book on my chest the other day rather than my phone in my hand.

Anyway, I am reading this book called cottage by the sea. It is set in Wales, and I think Cardiff was the perfect place to read it. Next to the bay.

I lost track of time there reading, but I began feeling guilty for sitting and not buying. So I did.

I got a cookie!

Yeah, not as exciting as I make it out to be, but oh well!

It was as quickly as I arrived that I left. I walked a beeline over to a big building that was blue and grey. The was a police box in front of it. And I was etching with excitement as I walked through those double doors.

Doctor Who.

For those who don't know, Cardiff is the set location for most of the filming, apart from that in the tardis and the green screen work. That is filmed in the BBC studios...that was right beside me.

I was surrounded by Doctor Who!

I began watching Doctor Who in 2005 with my dad, when Christopher Eccleston was the doctor. In my mind, he will always be the doctor for me. And Billie Piper as his assistant.

That was my first memory if it.

I did watch a bit of David Tennant back then too, but when I hit high school I guess it faded out a bit from my life.

I didn't watch it anymore, but the music was still there and I loved it. Well, I watched it on choir trips or at my friend's house but nothing more than that

So fast track to now, 8 Yeats later...I'm not the Doctor's biggest fan, but I still love him.

So walking through those doors into a world full of that music was awesome.

I am going to tell you the next part backwards.

The museum itself was amazing. They had the original clothing of all 11 doctors, all the Tardis boxes in varying states of condition and the inside of the Tardis David Tennant used. It was a bit worse for wear because it went through Tennant's regeneration.

But it was the original there in front of me. It also had all versions of the Darlek and all other random monster aliens that have appeared.

I got to go inside and drive a Darlek. The unsung hero's of this show really are the people who sit in the Darleks for hours on end. Even now.

But before we got to there, we had an interactive part with Matt Smith. No, he wasn't there....I wish!! But he talked to us, and told up stuff to do. Which resulted in the group of us facing off with Darleks, driving the Tardis and saving the Doctor.

I tell you what though, they did an amazing job of the police box....you could walk a full three sides of it, but when you open the door, those sides are gone. But they are still there on the outside. Its trippy to say the least.

At the beginning, they played the theme song for the 11th Doctor and he said this quote.

Well in a sec...hold on! Here:

"Everything in time and space. Everything that ever happened and everything that ever will. Revolves around you. So where do you want to start? And how do you want to do it? Sad? Happy? Quiet? Loud?"

That got me thinking so much, about where I am now. I am somewhere I wasn't yesterday. Me being here means something has shifted no matter how small. I have coped through this.

After that, I decided to take the bus back because my leg was aching. I needed to go to a hostel tonight.

So I got a taxi from Cates to the hostel.

Unknown to me, they didn't take card, so I ended up at central station, with no cash. I didn't mind walking the rest, but I didn't know where.

So I asked this gentleman outside a pub.

I began walking that way that he told me, but didn't get more than 100 meters before I heard yelling behind me.

It was the same guy.

He ran up puffing, and told me he looked up the hostel and he was sorry, he gave me the wrong directions.

And went on to take me to the pub and told me to wait. He came back no more than 5 minutes later, with money in hand and continued to take me to a taxi and told the guy to get me there and give me the change.

Wow. Some people really know how to make a difference to someone.

I have so much paying forward to do!!

He told me that everything happens for a reason. And I was meanwhile trying to bite my tongue to stop myself from crying.

This man was generous! And kind.

And it made the quote from doctor who seem even more real. Everything revolves around you.

So are you going to make it happy? Sad? Loud?

I never told you the end of the quote did I?

"Well one thing is for sure....you better make it extraordinary."

When you can't pay it back, paying it forward is such a wonderful thing to do. Generous man...I hope the boomerang of kindness he threw out comes back to him, magnified. I enjoy how you see the deeper meaning in what happens.

...and I am thrilled that you are starting to read of your own accord, not just for school assignments. Each book adds to you. "In ten years' time, you will be the same as you are now except for the people that you meet and the books you read"...maybe not an exact quote, but you get the drift.

John on

There are many wonderful people in the world, and it is wonderful to attract them into your life, even if just for a moment - and pass on the wonderfulness to someone else.
