Our first morning back in Vancouver and we decided to start with a run along the waterfront...in the pouring, freezing rain...ahh Vancouver - what a surprise. After three months of no running it was particularly difficult...my lungs burnt in the cold air! But it felt goood.
We then took the flat tyre to the tyre place to get it patched only to discover that there was no hole but that some cheeky s**t had let all the air out of it!!!! Dodgy Vancouver islanders!!
We spent the rest of the day chilling out and getting some jobs done.
Next morning we headed to the local gym and took them up on a free trial session...this included a body composition test eek!!
Tuesday night we had a nice dinner with Marks dad, Kees, who was in town to work on his boat.
Next morning we were at the gym again for a complimentary personal training session - I thought the run was hard but abs and arm workouts were a killer after only hiking for the last 3 months!
In the afternoon we drove we the top down through the cherry blossom lined streets to UBC campus in Kitsilano. The campus is a suburb of it's own and has some or the most exclusive property in Vancouver. Amazing houses with beautifully manicured gardens and stunning views.
Here there is also the Museum of Anthropology which we visited. The building is of architectural prestige and filled with fascinating artifacts of the aborigine heritage. Totem poles, canoes and massive wooden carvings to honour the ancestors of the country.
Wednesday night it was time to pick up Alex!! Phin's best friend who was in America for work and came to visit! Hoorah! Our first friend from home in 4 months!!

April 6 Update
Phin: Lunch: deliciously fluffy and creamy air filled scrambled free range eggs, with topped with Italian cheese, herbs and garlic, layered with fresh deeply orange Canadian smoked salmon and yellow cherry tomatoes...finished off with a fresh hot world famous cinnamon bun and a cup of coffee. Mmmm gym workout very worthwhile! Mm mm mmm!"
