When we came to Asia, we flew through west over the Pacific, laying over in Japan. This time we were going across the Atlatic, which means we've now flown all the way around the world...kind of cool. The flight was about 21 hours, but we had a brief lay-over in the Middle East (Abu Dhabi), so the whole journey took about 24 hours. But it really wasn't bad at all. We flew with Etihad, and I must recommend them. The food and service were great, and the in-flight entertainment really made it enjoyable. They had hundreds of movies and TV shows on-demand. You get your on personal screen on the back of the seat in front of you, and you can start it and pause it whenever you like. We slept as well as can be expected, and arrived in NYC on a brisk February morning.
