I have just arrived at Jess and Sam's in Vanuatu!! And yes Dad, I am safe and comfortable. The trip could not have gone smoother. I met up with the Cornwell's on Saturday night and they could not have been nicer. I know my car and all my belongings packed up inside my car have been left in good hands. I left very early from Portland, OR on Sunday morning and got down to LA around 8:30am. Ryan, my cousin, was waiting for me, and we spent a relaxing day walking around downtown LA and Hollywood. Sunday night I boarded the largest plane I have ever been on for a 10 hour flight across the Pacific. And I slept!! For I think most of the flight! The flight was fine and I got to Fiji around 5am., but then had to wait til about 11:30am before continuing on to Vanuatu. The time passed reasonably quickly and I was able to get a lot of reading done. So now I am here in Port Vila awaiting orders. Natalie (the person I will be working with from OceansWatch) will call tomorrow with their location and we will then figure out when and how I will be meeting up with them. In the mean time, I get to spend the rest of the day relaxing. I will try to write again once I find out what my next step will be.

Now that you can sleep on a plane your jet lag should be less. Prayer works. Did your luggage follow ok? I was able to track your takeoffs and landings through the airport websites. Mom and I figured that when you are getting ready for bed we would be finishing our first cup of coffee and you would be just getting into your work day as we are thinking of wrapping ours up. 15 hours difference and a day ahead. It takes extra thought to get used to it. I can't wait to hear of the boat (name too) and the diving. Thanks for the quick post. Much love, Dad

well i'm thoroughly happy to hear that you're safe and sound! glad that you're trip went well! looking at the map on the page and seeing exactly were the island is, is exciting!!! once again i have my world clock on my phone set to your time so i'll always know! have fun and I can't wait to hear more!
