We travelled to DC by car and stopped at a Wildlife centre as we came in. We took a little tour and I managed to snap a deer picture or two.  Unfortunately the driver didn't slow enough and I had my zoom out quite far, so missed a lot of snap opportunities.

I was feeling pretty homesick this day after we arrived at our motel.  A phone call from Aaron and I started feeling a bit better. Though he isn't.  He is full of the flu. Miss my animules!

The next morning Kathy, Peter and I got a train into the memorial central.  While on the train platform I heard and then seen three cop cars scream in on this guy.  A pile of cops jumped out, chased a guy and slam dunked him.  Then chucked handcuffs on him.  A bit of free entertainment.  Here's my awesome holiday pics! Wish you were here!

We got off the train in the capital and quickly lost Peter.  He was on his own mission.  So Kathy and I carried on without him.
Poor widdle blistered feet did some yards this day!  First stop parliment!

And then we stopped in to the Native American Indian Museum and I bought my last Cappuccino I think.  I'm a slow learner.  In the crappy stakes, probably the least crappy so far, but still crappy enough to be called crap.  Outside, cute ponies!!!!

We then stopped into the Smithsonian Castle.  Linley is in heaven again.  Too many pics to post.  Love it.
Then onto.. Me: "Oh there's that big penis looking thang".  Kathy: '"You're a f*cken weirdo".. the Washington monument. Next stop the WWII Memorial.  Loved this one. Lots of fountains etc.

We carried on to the Jefferson Memorial and.. I would like to interupt this post with short SQUIRREL commercial break..

CUUUUUTE!  I recovered from my cute attack and finally made it to the Jefferson Memorial.
Then to the Roosevelt Memorial.  I think I took a photo of every single stone.  Loved this one.  Obviously too many photos to upload.  Next Martin Luther King.  Very hot here.  Not many trees and quite exposed.  I must admit I was starting to wilt.

Another big trek and I was nearly starting to run out of oomph.  So I parked up on the grass with a drink from a nearby shop and had another squirrel attack.  This one was a cheeky little guy.  Kathy just hovered around wanting to keep going.

We stopped through the Korean War Memorial next.  Here's my wee bit of patriotism coming!  Whoop!  I found New Zealand!

Finally the Lincoln memorial!

But it's not over yet, folks!  Another trek across the bridge to Arlington and we watched the changing of the guards for the un-named soldier.  I will add I nearly died from heatstroke just prior to this but managed to find a last bit of hidden energy.
Then JFK gravesite.

Phew what a day!  We did some yards!
Washington is completely different from New York. It's like going from putting marmite on your toast to honey.  The center is pristine and the streets kept completely rubbish free.  I have taken so many photos of New York and Washington it is impossible to post them all.
Catch ya next time.  Be good. X
