We were picked up bright and early at 7:00 and joined a couple of farm hands in the back of Neils' pickup truck and had to sit on top of a pile of ostrich feed.

As soon as the ostriches saw the truck coming, they came a runnin' cause they knew we had food.  The sun was just rising and it was such a surreal experience to be out in the middle of the South African countryside feeding ostriches! At one point Steve took Sora out and stood right in the middle of the feeding frenzy.

It took about an hour to get the feeding done and then it was time to go back to the main house for breakfast.  Neils let Sora play with some puppies that had just been born a couple of days ago...they were so new that they hadn't even opened their eyes yet.  Inside we had our last great South African breakfast, this time with the added bonus of ostrich bacon!

Today was our last day of travelling and we had to make it back to Cape Town in time for our flight at 7pm.  But first we had to tackle wine country...yea!  We drove through one more mountain pass and ended up smack dab in the middle of wine country in a town called Franschhoek for lunch.  This was a beautiful little town where most of the buildings are in the traditional Cape Dutch style.  We had a nice stroll and then a great lunch before touring around and checking out the wineries on our way back to Cape Town.  It was a short but sweet tour of the winelands but enough to get a flavour for the area.

Cape Town was only about 45 minutes away and we made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare.  We bid a tearful farewell and then Sora and I boarded our plane bound for London then onwards to Toronto.  After our ordeal of getting to South Africa in the first place, man, was I ever dreading the flight....
