I only had one day to check out the sights of Bratislava so me and my 2 new Aussie pals tried our best for an early start. We were all ready and heading into town by noon, not bad considering last night ran a little late :)
A quick stop at the train station to check times and get tickets and we were on a full scale mission to find a kebab. Only took an hour or so, but man it was good! Now we were ready to be tourists.
We wandered a bit and then went to the town hall museum. Slightly gruseome torture chamber/prison in the basement, but it was  definitely interesting. Outside the town hall there was an antique car show going on, good timing!
Bratislava has a big long pond with fountains along a pedestrian street where you see locals cooling off with their feet in the water. We grabbed some gelatos and joined them. So nice, every town should have one of these! Stayed there for quite awhile watching some people playing chess on a life size board.
Nice and refreshed, we headed off to check out some more of the sights. There are a bunch of very unique statues around town, including one coming out of a manhole, one checking out the view by a bench and one flying out a window. After we got our fill of the sun and photos of all the sites, we headed back to the hostel for a bit of a rest before packing for tomorrow.
Once it had cooled off a bit, we set back into town for supper. Had an awesome meal of pork stuffed with peppers, cheese, eggs and ham. A couple of beers there before walking back to the hostel so that we could be in bed by midnight and on time for our morning trains.
