Four days until the flight. The challenge? Carmen has convinced me that I can travel for a month with a carry-on bag. Because we are going to a hot climate I know that 4-5 gray/tan outfits and packets of Tide will do. But what about all the ancillary items, the travel "do- dads"? Should I buy and take a Steri-pen that sterilizes water in 90 seconds or will I insult a restaurant by my unnecessary cautiousness? What technology will keep me in touch but not be damaged or stolen? Do I really need a laundry line and clothes pins, I bet many of our hotels have laundry service? Don't forget the sink stopper, the door stopper and the pills for poop stopping! And, how heavy is it all as it must be lifted to overhead bins, "slepped" up stairs and lifted over countless obstacles.
Two days before. Packed. Getting a "buzz" haircut and cortisone shots in both knees tomorrow. Don't think I've ever done this amount of planning before. There cannot be one thing that the two of us are not prepared for....

I'll be with you in spirit.
I hope you guys have a great time in the warm climate. Where are you going? I miss you guys but life goes on. I am going to California tomorrow for five days to see Geoff's family. I'm also planning on going to France next fall with Freida and her group from teaching days. Please keep in touch. Love, Jane and Rhett
Linda, even though you are being 'lean and mean', you probably will bring home unused stuff. Oh well, looking forward to your travelogue!
Sounds like quite an adventure. I am impressed with the potential of such a minimal amount of luggage. It will at once simplify and complicate your travels! We will read your blog with interest.
