Arrived in St George and lunched over the road from the Bolonne River at the Riverview Pub.

Watched and wondered at the flocks of galahs circling on mass in and around the trees at dusk with clear blue skies, felt truly Australian.

Decided a good walk was in order so we set off to the main shopping strip which was an easy walk down the road from our caravan park. St George is another country town where the land is fairly flat, in fact we haven’t seen a decent hill for yonks that is why these areas are great for irrigating cotton and wheat.

We past a few blocks of shops and decided to head
to the local vineyard, didn't seem far on the map.
However when an hour had passed with no sign of the elusive vineyard I was beginning to get a little hot and Glenn bothered. But just then vines came into view, around the corner and we’ll be there........oh no another 100 metres the sign tells us past rows of vines to the entry gate. And now the long driveway down to the shade and the cellar door comes into view. At last we made it! Now line up those wines please.

Riversands Wines produce a good line up and after an informative presentation and a cheese platter we left an hour and half later with lighter pockets. While leaving the vineyard a small friendly dog greeted us and despite a lot of shooing and "go home" the little rascal followed us all the way back to the caravan park. Since we were going back to the vineyard to pick up the wines we purchased and couldn't carry we decided to drop him off at the vineyard and yes he belonged to one of the neighbours.
