dogs wait along the main highway in Bikaner in the morning to be fed chipati by the men who are going to work in their motorcycles. They throw chipati to them as they drive past. There are dozens and dozens of them lying along the highway all on the one side waiting for the chipati. In the afternoon they all shift to the other side of the road and wait for the chipati they get from the workers on their return home. It is really funny to see all these dogs laying along one side of the highway and no dogs on the other side.

We went to see another Jain temple in Bikaner though we said we didn't want to see anymore temples. WE are kind of burned out on temple viewing. The guide took us there anyway. They didn't want us to miss it because it is realy important to them. I got sick from my malaria pill and didn't see much of it anyway. The malaria pills are hard on me and I have to take one a day. If I don't make sure I have some kind of food that soaks up the stomach juices, I puke it all up.:-)

We went to the red fort in Bikaner, which we also didn't want to see, but it turned out to be good because there was a really great weapons display and Kenny Lee has been studying their weapons

. He bought a book on Indian weapons and has read the whole thing. So, he had a great time explaining to us what the different swords and knives were used for and some of the gruesome things that they could do, such as open up into three blades once you stab your victim so you can rip their guts to shreads. He loved explaining all the gorey details.:-)

Then it was a long drive to Jaipur. Gani started teaching us Hindi in the car and we practiced counting to ten and asking each other's names and responding. That's about the extent of my hindi right now.

We had a hard time finding a hotel in Jaipur. Apparently, it is a good time for hindi weddigns right now so all the hotels are booked up for weddings. There were signs of wedding parties all over the place. They have really big weddings in India. We did finally find a nice hotel, Hotel Rajasthan, though you wouldn't have thought so from the road entrance. We didn't get to bed until after 1:00 AM. It was a long day.
