Well, its been a while since the last time I wrote. I hope we all have healed a bit from the devastating election results. My dissapointment manifested itself as a cold and so I have been trying to recover for the last week, and I am finally feeling better. I wanted to share with you a Rilke line that was passed on to me by a friend here in Oaxaca:
"Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievably gorgeous shrieking into the heart of the night."

Here in Oaxaca we are raising up our voices in the name of justice. I am on my way to a press conference right now, there will be a plethora of events surrounding the 7-year anniversary of the organization and the Dia de Independencia on the 20th.
I had the opportunity to visit one of the communities, called Yucubey, in the sierra mixteca last weekend. We were high up in the mountains, the village had a few buildings as its centro, the only area with electricity, and you must follow paths up into the forest to reach the small wood huts where people live. Cipo managed to construct the road that leads into the village, before, people had to walk 2 hours with all their supplies. Only recently was this constructed, along with the bridge over the river that in the rainy season was completely impassable.
My thoughts have been with you all, and I would like to share more photos of my friends here in Oaxaca.
I will let you all know when the video I am working on is complete and uploaded onto the cipo website. We are also working on getting in shown at the local cinema series called Cineclub El Pochote, very cool, located on calle garcia vigil 817. I love this city!
