Just got my birthday  weeks ago.. and my husband bought me a DSLR camera for my bday present.. Wow.. was so so happy and excited.. We planned to go to eastern Europe on October. He said, we'd better use a better camera to capture our first and one in a life time trip... I cannot agree more!!!!

My only problem was.. the last time I learned about photography was during the era of non-digital one.. where we still used film in the camera.. so outdated, i know.. But buying a DSLR was way beyond my league at that time.. Got my priority for other more important thing.. Therefore, i was so so so thrilled when I got the present... couldn't wait to use it right away

So i told my best friend, Dj about the good news.. And booked her to accompany me around Jakarta.. just to had first trial of photo hunting.. I needed to get familiar with it before our trip to eastern Europe..

We then went around Jakarta and ended up taking most of the time in the old town complex .. it was located in central Jakarta...

I was as much as surprised as the tourist .. Being the local residence, sometime you always take everything for granted.. I found out the old town to be very great place to take some photographic picture.. the old dutch architecture caught my camera most of the time.. the building was also preserved as is.. so sometime it can be looked creepy or abandoned.. but quite beautiful for a photograph

There is some nice cafe located in the old town area.. the foods was nice as well.. One of them is Cafe Batavia, its got a great interior inside.. But they were quite strict about bringing a camera.. You needed to ask permission first and let them know the picture will not be commercialized in any kind of form...

In square of the old town, there were some old bicycle that used to be ride by local people during the dutch colonial time.. you can also rent it....
