We were recommended a free city walking tour by a friend, so checked that out on our first day. We walked around the centre of SP for - no joke - 4 hours with only a 20 minute break, listening to our guide tell us all sorts of facts and figures about the various buildings and history of the old city centre. As we had been travelling all night and had zero sleep, after only 1 hour we were flagging, but true to form we stuck it out to the end like real troupers. After which we almost ran back to the hostel for check in and went straight to sleep.
Visited an all you can eat Gourmet sushi restaurant for dinner, bang tidy! Possibly the best sushi we've ever eaten, not a buffet style, but hot and fresh and brought straight to the table until you can't eat any more...amazing!
Sao Paulo really comes alive at night, the neighbourhood Villa Madelena was a strip full of great bars and clubs. The days were spent wandering around the MASP (Mordern Art Sao Paulo), the Afro-Brazil Museum which was also incredibly interesting and checking out the parks. Overall Sao Paulo is a lot more cosmopolitan and we noticed a remarkable difference in service and efficiency compared to the north!
