Where I stayed
Pipa Hostel
Arrived in Pipa, a small coastal town, to be greeted by yet more beautiful beaches, espetos (amazing bbq meat on a stick) and street cocktails. Some of our friends from Jericoacoara were already in Pipa so we had a nice little crew to hang out with. Pipa is renouned for its Surf and Dolphins so we went out in search for both. We headed to Mandeiro beach where we were lucky enough to watch the wild dolphins playing in the ocean and borrowed our friends surf boards to try our luck on the waves which was fairly painful and tiring but great fun.
A popular refreshment in the northern region is the "Caldo de Cana" which is the juice from a sugar cane, something we discovered in Pipa. The sugar canes are passed through a machine which resembles a kind of pasta maker to release the natural juice, a massive sugar hit!
