-cold showers aren't so bad after about the third day
-being "dry" in costa rica just means being "less wet"
-"somos missionarios de los estados unidos" always gets you a warm hug and a cold drink
-always check your bed for scorpions
-"¿quieres jugar a futbol?" is all you really need to know to make friends
-eating mint leaves prevents mosquito bites
-friendship can be seen in the most interesting places....like when a truck driver pulls off to help a bus driver change a tire that blew out 3 hours into a 10 hour trip
-yes...16 people can fit in the back of a pickup truck
-we learned the hard way what "no hay paso" meant
-black beans and rice is acceptable at every meal
-Christ's love surpasses all language barriers
