Up 06:30 today was adventure time the "Downhill Cruise Adventure" 24 km mostly downhill.
We started with breakfast overlooking the "Cibao Valley" talking a little bit with our other team members, a couple from NY (one a nurse and the other a wall street worker, 60 hours per week). They were nice and friendly it made the group energy really enjoyable. We started at the top were it was a fresh and cool climate. Then it was downhill most of the time, we even had the opportunity to try some single track which I loved the most. We stopped for many "Kodak moments" but the highlight was the crossing of the river, it felt so adventurous. And I was glad that I succeeded in keeping my mobile phone above the water. We ended the trip with a swim in the river together with fearless locals that jumped from the cliffs. This was really fun and only the moment existed...
Afterwards we tried a really crappy restaurant with Dominican food close to the road through Cabarete, too bad it was such a downer tasteless and a very noisy place.
Close to our hotel I found a cafe where I tried an espresso with a cherry cake it was so delicious. I was back on my legs and it only cost 75 DOP I could hardly believe it, I am coming back/:)
A dip in the ocean and then back to the hotel for the low budget backpacker laundry in the sink and the shower. While at the same time "enjoying" a tropical rain with thunder from our balcony it was amazing to experience the forces of nature.
